Day 7 – Visitation

February 6, 2011

Dear Devoted Follower;

Today we are focusing on “V” in our devotion; Visitation.  We can see in the scriptures that the Lord desires to come and abide with us.

1.  He wants to abide in the corporate House of God.

In Exodus we see the Lord asking for the people to establish a sanctuary, a place where He can dwell amongst them.

8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

Exodus 25:8 (NKJV)

2.  He also wants to abide in us.

16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)

God is asking in this hour, “Will we be a people who will recognize that we are the dwelling place of God? Will we recognize the treasure in earthen vessels within us?

The honest reality is that we will experience the dwelling of God in the corporate house of God to the degree that we are a people who recognize His dwelling in us individually. You and I can truly experience a greater level of the presence of God in our life, because that is the very reason why Jesus came.

He came so we can be in fellowship, intimate communion with our God.  And this takes place, when we first recognize the truth that He has chosen to dwell within us and not just with us.  When we begin to comprehend that reality, we will clean out the closets of our heart and make room for Him.

My prayer is that you and I will take an honest assessment of our hearts and purposefully surrender those things that water down, crowd out or shut out the presence of God in our lives.

Imagine it!  We have an awesome privilege, Immanuel, means “With us IS God.”  He is our Immanuel and His desire is to be With Us.  Let us make room for a fresh visitation of God in our personal life and corporate life.

Heavenly Father, Forgive us, as we have filled the rooms of our life with so much clutter. Holy Spirit, we give you permission to reveal the obstacles, and hindrances that keep you from abiding within us as you have desired. We desire to decrease that you might increase.  Prepare us to be a sanctuary, for your glory. Prepare us to be a dwelling place that impacts the corporate body of Christ and the world. Forgive us when we have not cherished your desire to fellowship with us, renew our first love and rekindle the fire of our affection.  Empower us to be a bride that is faithful and true. In Jesus Name.  Amen.

Be humbled and excited by the reality that He wants us!
