Day 30 – Truth

February 27, 2011

To His Child Born in Truth,

Our focus today is Truth; truth is not just something that we hold onto as mental ascent or as opinions and thoughts. But it is a force that fuels our actions.  All of what God says is in truth; “His Word are right (straight, upright, equity), and therefore all of His work is done in truth.

4 …for the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

Psalms 33:4 (KJV)

In this passage the word truth means; literal firmness; figurative security; moral fidelity: – faith, set office, stability, steady, truly, truth, verily.  Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary
We see that His Word and His Ways align and are congruent with one another.  God’s ways reflect, fidelity, faithfulness, stability, and steady. As believers we are called to be like Him in word and in-deed.

24 Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

1 Samuel 12:24 (NKJV)

The word TRUTH in this passage has the following meaning: stability; certainty, truth, trustworthiness: – assured (-ly), establishment, faithful, and right, sure, true (-ly, -th), verity.

Serving is a verb that denotes action.  This passage is communicating that our service needs to be a reflection of our stability, trustworthiness, faithful, sure, right and verity (The quality or condition of being true, factual, or real.)

How can you and I accomplish the task of aligning ourselves with His Word and His Ways?  When you and I walk in the reverential respect (fear) of the Lord, and meditate on all that He has done for us, we are brought to a place of honor and gratitude, which will fuel our ability to walk faithfully with our God.

Dear Heavenly Father, Your Word teaches us that you desire truth in our inward parts. Help us to become a people of truth, and not just a truth that is mentally agreed with, but a truth in which we are fused together with in every aspect of our being.

6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Psalms 51:6 (NKJV)

11 teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Psalms 86:11 (KJV)

We pray as the Psalmist prayed, “Teach me thy way, O’Lord; we commit to walk in your truth, unite our hearts to fear you, to love and respect you faithfully and consistently. In Jesus Name; Amen
