‎Seek ye the Lord while he may be found,
call ye upon him while he is near: Isaiah 55:6

Dear Church Family and Friends;

Each year at this time, we begin to prepare for a very important season at CLC & FQCC. It is our season of prayer and fasting as we “Seek God For The City”.  For the past eleven years we have corporately come together for this forty day period of prayer, and we as we look back, we can see the tremendous impact it has had on our church, our community and on our own personal spiritual walk.  We will begin this focused time of prayer on Wednesday, February 13 and it will conclude on Palm Sunday, which is March 24th.

To assist us, we will use the devotional prayer guide published by Waymakers, entitled “Seek God For The City, 2013”. This is a powerful tool which will help you to pray effectively for our city and the world, as we pray for countries and different people groups. These booklets are available now, for a donation of $3 per book.

There will be thousands of other believers across the world praying these same prayers as we come together as the Body of Christ to seek the face of God for an outpouring of His Spirit. These scriptural based prayers will launch your prayers to a new level of awareness and understanding. Each week has a specific focus to help you stay engaged during this season of prayer.

As I mentioned earlier, this is also a time where we are including fasting with our prayers. Fasting is a decision to lay aside, a meal, (or more), a hobby, and or an activity as an act of consecration and dedication to help you bring your mind, will, emotions into alignment with your spiritual goals. Because this is a personal decision, may I ask you to begin to seek the Lord to find out what He may ask of you in this season?  The Bible says, my sheep know my voice, so I am confident that as you pray the Lord will reveal to you what He would like you to consider laying aside in this powerful season.

To help you understand what fasting is, we have a free booklet entitled “Draw Near” which is available for you in the lobby, that will inform you as to the types of fasts taught in the Bible and some suggestions and guidelines while fasting. The most important thing is that we set aside time daily to draw close to the Lord and bring our petitions before Him.

We want to encourage you to make a commitment to join with us as we take this journey in prayer and allow the waters of His Spirit to cleanse us, renew us, and envision us so we can become vessels He can use for His Glory.

P.S.  Feel free to share this invitation with a friend.

Because the Cross is truly more than enough,
Pastors Ron & Denise Satrape
