In God We “Still” Trust- Day 1
August 25, 2012if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
In 1775, in the process of forming a new nation the Continental Congress called for a day of prayer. At critical junctures during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln called for the nation to fast and pray and in 1952 President Truman signed a bill establishing an annual National Day of Prayer.
As a nation, we are at a critical juncture that necessitates action. The kind of action that brings a response of the heart; a response that leads to real change and healing. 2Chronicles gives us a model of national spiritual renewal. This model lays out the steps of action that leads to true change; change for the better.
- Action Step #1 Humble ourselves
- Action Step #2 Pray and Seek the face of God
- Action Step #3 Turn from our sinful/selfish ways
Will you arise to a place of action in this hour?
Will you arise with me, as we fall to our knees in earnest prayer? If we will, He will hear from heaven and heal our land.
Heavenly Father, as we survey our country in this hour, we see our desperate need for You to arise with healing in your wings. Release Your goodness that leads us to a place of true repentance, as we ask for your mercy and grace to heal our land.
Take the time to check out the link below and let’s become a people of action in this critical hour.
