And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.

Luke 1:38a

Luke chapter 1, tells us of the encounter that a young girl named Mary had with the Angel of the Lord and his news that she would bear a Son on God’s behalf, who would be the Savior of the world.  Verse 38 tells us of her simple yet profound statement of faith that released heaven’s ability to impact earth; “be it to me according to thy word.”

Mary was not greater than any other human that existed, nor was she more perfect, but she possessed, the same ingredient that Abraham and Noah possessed.  She believed God at His word. She had faith in God and His ability to accomplish His Word in her life.   Mary had possibility thinking.

Somehow God knew Mary’s capacity to conceive the impossible.  She was a POSSIBILITY thinker – not an impossibility thinker.  People of faith are people who understand that their thinking will conceive their future.

Impossibility thinking or as otherwise known as unbelief on Mary’s part would have blocked the plan of God.  The scriptures tell us that when Jesus himself was walking the earth that He was unable to do miracles in certain cities and towns because of people’s unbelief.

If we are going to be a people of great faith, we must be a people that believe; a people who believe God at His word.  Believing begins in your thought life.  What you think, impacts what you believe and what you believe impacts what you conceive and what you conceive is what you will receive.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 9:23

As you forge ahead today, learn from the faith of a young teen that chose to believe the impossible is possible if one simply believes God at His word.

You can have full assurance in your heart, that you are not to old to see the impossible made possible!  Only believe according to His Word.

Abraham’s wife Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Hebrews 11:11
