Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 49

June 11, 2011

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Isaiah 41:10

The greatest enemy to faith is fear.  Earlier this week, I shared with you in devotion #47, that fear is a mindset that can manifest itself in our emotions.  Its goal is to fill you with apprehension, regret and captivate your mind and heart.

In this passage in Isaiah, the Lord is declaring to His servant, to fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  To be dismayed means to gaze about in amazement and bewilderment.  It means to cause one to give consideration and regard to what one is experiencing or thinking.  To be dismayed has a goal hidden in its meaning, it is to cause you to grow dim and depart, by causing you to consider and give respect to the circumstance you are facing.

As you forge ahead today, you will gain full assurance in your heart, if you will give greater consideration to God’s Word and His promises to you.  If you are going to stand in amazement today,  choose to stand amazed at the goodness of God.  Let His amazing love bring a fresh bewilderment, so that you will grow bright in your expectation and hope instead of growing dim and departing from the truth.  For surely He is your help today!
