Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 36
May 25, 2011“Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:4
Growing great faith that moves mountains and impacts the world has more to do with “who we are” than what we will ever do! We as His servants can get lost in the work and forget we are His workmanship re-created in Christ Jesus for good works. (Ephesians 2:10) The key to greatness is the pathway of smallness. Jesus said whoever humbles himself as this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
What are the characteristics of a child? If brought up in a healthy environment, the natural inclination of a child is to trust. They trust the one they look up to. They are dependent, and do not struggle with dependency, they confidently know they will be taken care of. They are pure hearted, not inclined to believe the worst. They are pliable and flexible and hungry to learn. They readily forgive and move on. They readily give and receive love.
As you forge ahead today, become a child whose heart is fully assured in the love of your Heavenly Father. Do not lean to your own understanding, but remain flexible in His hands; hungry and eager to learn. Maintain a pure heart, surrendering the wrongs done. Do not allow the pride of what you know to cause you to take the steering wheel of your life, but rejoice in your dependency on the One who knows best.
Do not despise the smallness that leads to greatness; for the greatest act of humility is to receive what one does not deserve. Receive today of His amazing grace; allow it to release the gifts within you, that will move the mountains without!
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
