Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 27

May 14, 2011

Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

Daniel 3:28

Don’t we love stories of intense drama, and great rescue? Of course we do, unless it’s us in the drama!  The Word of God is filled with those who in the midst of life’s drama made a decision to place their trust in God.  And their trust was made evident in the day of trouble.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had a major choice to make; either bow to the decree of an ungodly king or face the fire for doing what is right.  They chose to do what is right trusting in the faithfulness of God to protect and defend them.

Choosing to do what is right will at times present its own drama and maybe even circumstances that will require great rescue.  But, when you place your trust in God, you will discover that not only is He with you in the fire, but He will also keep you in the midst of the fire.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Daniel 3:25

When life’s drama seems to encompass you remember there is a goal in every drama; it will either refine and prove you or defeat you; the choice is yours.  Trusting God doesn’t guarantee you will never face the fire; but those who trust in God will emerge from the fire safely, without even the smell of smoke.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Daniel 3:27

Go about your day with full assurance in the heart, knowing that the God you trust is with you in life’s dramas. Not only will He keep you, but your trust in Him will shine forth like a light that will lead others to know that He is a God who can be trusted.
