Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 26

May 13, 2011

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

Psalms 37:23

Many times in life, we can find ourselves in situations and in places which we did not plan to go.  It is in those times, I have come to discover a truth that brings peace when I can’t find the “forest for all the trees!”  The “truth” is that when I am walking with God, my steps are ordered by Him.

Living a life of faith is not about the control we have over life’s circumstance and situations; it’s about the confidence we have in our God; who is in control! When I am placing my confidence in the integrity and faithfulness of a God, then I am able to be at peace when the way seems unclear because He is the God who sees.

…in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:6

It’s interesting to note, that when one feels lost or uncertain, one can begin to question the things around oneself; yet, many times we are asking the wrong questions.  Having great faith is not about not asking questions, it’s about asking the right questions.  If the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, “What does God know about my situation, that I have yet to discover?”

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31

When I believe God is for me, my questions in dark times are different.

“What is God going to show me?”
“What will I gain in this season?”
“Who will I be crossing paths with, that the Lord wants me to talk to?”
“What blessings await me at the end of this journey?”

Forge ahead with full assurance in the heart, when the way seems dark and uncertain.  Begin to ask the questions that reveal the light of who He is.  Trust in the integrity and ability of God to work everything together for your good as you keep in step with Him.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:28
