Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 20
May 7, 20111 I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.Psalms 121:1-2
Life can be filled with so many distracting opportunities. The voices from without and the ones within can grab your attention and lead you down many paths. But those who forge ahead in life in trustful hope are a people who keep their focus on the One who loves them best and most, because they understand what they fix their eyes upon is what they inevitably feed upon.
King David declares in Psalms 121 the source of his help. His help comes from the Lord. It is also interesting to note that David looks up! He does not look down, all around, but he looks up. When you are looking up, the peripheral things disappear, your gaze cannot be captured by what is going on around you. David came to understand that his faith grew, when he maintained his focus on the author and finisher of his faith.
As you go about your day, make a decision to look up! Lock your gaze on the maker of heaven and earth and you will find a new strength and peace that will release a full assurance in the heart, that will empower you to live out the faith within.
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
