Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 18
May 5, 2011Much has been said when it comes to living a purpose driven life and without ever realizing that we can mistaken our purpose for function. As humans you and I all have the same primary purpose for our existence, but we all have differing functions that become the expression of living out our purpose.
What is our primary purpose?
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
Our primary purpose is to be a dwelling place, a house of God; a living temple where he lives and abides and communes with His people, individually and corporately. We were designed to be a house where God has fellowship.
We were created primarily to have fellowship with God and God with us! That fellowship takes place through the vehicle of prayer. Prayer is a relational communication exchange between us and God.
And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer?
Mark 11:17
Many times we can read this scripture and think it is referring to an activity that takes place in a church building, but the building is only the corporate gathering place of those who God dwells in.
On this National Day of Prayer let’s arise as the dwelling place of God, as we embrace the gift of relationship that has been extended to us by His great love. Let us offer up our prayers with full assurance in the heart, knowing that He hears us when we pray.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
1 John 5:14 (NKJV)
