Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 15

May 2, 2011

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Psalms 23:5

There are many times it can feel like life is in control and calling all the shots, but David came to understand that the Lord is “Adonia;” the One who is in control.

I know the greatness of the Lord— that our Lord is greater than any other god. 6 The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. 7 He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.

Psalms 135:5-7

He also discovered the truth that Adonia is not only in charge, but is intricately aware of all that going on around us and is concerned about it.

6 Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.  7 Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me.

Psalms 138:6-7

David learned that even when your enemy surrounds you, you are not alone.  When all looks lost, God’s provision is seen.   When others have forsaken you, God is able to care for you abundantly, as He reaches down with His hand to save and defend you openly before them all!

He realized that the God sees beyond the natural, beyond the problem, beyond the weakness into our destiny and then it is He who anoints us so we can accomplish it.

18 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, “Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? 19 And now, Sovereign Lord, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! Do you deal with everyone this way, O Sovereign Lord?

2 Samuel 7:18-19

As you forge ahead in faith, have a full assurance in the heart that the One who is in control, is intricately aware of what you are facing and He deals with everyone with the same love and concern as He had for David.
