Full Assurance In The Heart – Day 11
April 28, 2011I stand amazed as I reflect on the complete sufficiency of who God is! Yesterday we pondered on the characteristics of Jehovah Shalom; the One who causes us to become whole and therefore at peace within. Today, let’s examine Jehovah-Rophe; “The Lord Who Heals.”
“The Lord Who Heals,” implies that He is the Lord who is the provider of spiritual, emotional as well as physical healing in our life. And for many of us, the ability to become whole or to be at peace within follows us first, becoming healed from life’s bitter waters.
He said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Exodus 15:26
This passage was written, while the children of Israel were in the wilderness part of their journey to get to the Promised Land. Along the way, they and encountered bitter waters and they began to complain in their fearful distress. Then Moses cried out to God for a solution and the Lord showed him a piece of wood, which he placed in the water and the waters became sweet. It was there they discovered the “Lord who heals.”
In our journey, we all have encountered the bitter waters of life. Those bitter waters have an impact on who we are and how we react to life’s issues. As a result we can see their affect upon us, physically, emotionally and/or spiritually; leaving us unhealthy in many dimensions. This lack of health keeps us from being the whole person we were destined to be. That is, until we encounter Jehovah-Rophe; the one who can and does heal all our diseases.
When you and I bring ourselves into alignment with His Word, His Will and His Ways, we are not only forgiven, but we have access to the “One who heals.” His healing power is released into our lives because of the finished work of the Cross. The blood stained wood, touches the waters of our life and releases not only a grace to forgive, but the power to heal and restore.
As you forge ahead with full assurance in the heart, cry out to the “Lord your Healer,” for He is your solution. Allow Him to come and heal the bitter waters of life and bring you to a place of health and healing, so you can fully walk in the wholeness of His peace.
I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord….
