Forsaking All I Trust Him – Day 20

July 29, 2011

We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight.  Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!

Romans 13:13-14

People of faith are marked by some distinguishing characteristics. They not only forge ahead, but they forge ahead on purpose with a purpose.  They are people who seize the moments as moments make up the day and the days have impact on the world around us.

They are a people who have forsaken complacency; not allowing the frivolous things to consume the important things in life.  They have chosen to allow the fruit of self-control to reign in their life, by saying “no”to the things that feed the flesh but starve the spirit-man.

They have forsaken worldly attitudes that feed greed and strife and have embraced the grace to forgive, while living generously for His glory. They have forsaken apathy, by choosing to arise and get moving toward their destiny with focus.  They are alert attentive, clothed in the image of Christ, reflecting the One who has redeemed them and called them their
own.

“So always be ready, because you don’t know the day your Lord will come.   Remember this: If the owner of the house knew what time of night a thief was coming, the owner would watch and not let the thief break in. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at a time you don’t expect him.

Matthew 24:42-44

The alarm in heaven is going off in this hour, who will arise and heed the sound?  Those who have chosen to forsake all to be about the Father’s business, because they trust Him.
