Forsaking All I Trust Him – Day 16
July 21, 2011Taking a stand for God and His people takes a heart that is willing to “forsake all.”
Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
Esther 4:15-16
Esther was a young woman who was a minority in a male dominated world. Through God’s divine direction in her life, she went from being an orphan girl in a captive land to becoming a queen. Aspects of her story were like a fairy tale come true. Yet, her life was not a fairy tale. Her life was a gift from God and in that gift was a hidden destiny waiting to be unlocked in its appointed time.
Never had she imagined that her life could have such influence and impact on the world around her. But, when the political climate changed and persecution arose against the people of God, she took a stand; a stand that could cost her life; in an attempt to save many.
Esther defining hour meant she had to be willing to “forsake all” trusting God to prevail in perilous times.
- Esther had to be willing to forsake; the fearful and cultural mindset that at as a woman or a minority, she could not influence the situation for good.
- She had to forsake the fear of the consequence of breaking the natural law to uphold God’s law; a decision which could cost her position, her comfort, and her life.
Esther arose as a true queen in a strategic hour as she rallied the people to pray and believe. In that moment the Lord released a divine strategy, that she patiently walked out and in so doing, saved a people from certain death.
In this hour the Lord is looking for His people to arise from their orphan mentality to cultivate, develop and release their hidden destiny. He is looking for a people who are willing to take a stand for God and His people. He is looking for people who will press past the lies that they are too insignificant to make a difference. He is looking for a people who will be strategic and willing to forsake all for the benefit of many.
In our ever changing cultural climate, will you be an Esther willing to lay down your life, pressing past every fear and limitation to take a stand; forsaking all so that many will live to know the truth of God’s love and redeeming grace?
….. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?
