Forsaking All I Trust Him – Day 13

July 15, 2011

Dear friends, you are like foreigners and strangers in this world. I beg you to avoid the evil things your bodies want to do that fight against your soul. People who do not believe are living all around you and might say that you are doing wrong. Live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and will give glory to God on the day when Christ comes again.
1 Peter 2:11-12

If we are going to live our life in such a manner that Christ is clearly seen to those around us, it will mean forsaking those things that fog up the image of Christ in our lives.   We have been forgiven and made free by the blood and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But our freedom in Christ is the emancipation we received so we do not have to live sinful lives any longer.

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

Galatians 5:13

Which attitudes, behaviors or mindets are you still clinging to that are fogging up
the image Christ?  Make a decision today to “forsake” them by embracing the freedom you have been given when you surrendered your life to the Cross of Christ.  Not only will you experience greater clarity, but others will see Him more clearly in you.

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 (NLT)
