Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope – Day 6

March 14, 2011

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

John 1:14

To be a people of faith who “Forge Ahead In Trustful Hope,” we must be a people who increase our trust level.   Great faith is born out of great trust!   God so understood our need to have an “in flesh” picture for us to grasp, that He sent His Son into the world.   Jesus, who is the full embodiment of the living WORD of God, became flesh and dwelt amongst us.  His life demonstrated the heart of God toward man.  His life modeled how we can remain close to the Father.  He was the embodiment of the Word of God in action in the life of a human.  He is the Living Word, which was fully surrendered to will of God.

When we are in constant exposure to the LIVING WORD, it causes our faith to mature and increase.   The Word of God is the written TRUTH of Who He is and what He is like.  It is the proven record of His impact on the earth.   History, tells of His Story- The story of His love and desire for mankind and what He went through to connect you and I to our Heavenly Father.

We will not grow in (faith) trust if we do not grow in our knowledge of who He is and what He has done. We will not grow in our trust, if we do not nurture the faith that is resident within.  When we understand the character, nature or credibility of someone or something, it feeds our faith in them and that faith is released by the trust we demonstrate toward someone or something.   A consistent and regular exposure to the WORD of GOD is needed in our lives if our faith is to grow and mature

If we are going to receive and bring more of heaven on earth in 2011, it will be a result of us becoming a people of His WORD.  Moses wrote the following in Deuteronomy Chapter 8, and repeated By Jesus in Matthew.

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)

You and I cannot grow strong faith, if the only bread we eat is natural bread.   We cannot grow strong, if we only eat spiritual bread once a week.  We may survive as believers, but we will not thrive as believers.

Where are you in this season?  Surviving or thriving?  Are you hungry? Are you growing in His word?   Ask God for a fresh hunger and desire for His Word in your life today.

I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.

Job 23:12
