Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope – Day 39
April 16, 2011“Faith is putting all your eggs in God’s basket; then counting your blessings before they hatch.”
Ramona C Hatch
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Matthew 6:19-21
Robin Mark, wrote a song that many of us have sung. This song truly encapsulates the heart of one who realizes that when it’s all been said and done, what will remain that really matters.
When it’s all been said and done
There is just one thing that matters
Did I do my best to live for truth?
Did I live my life for you? When it’s all been said and done
All my treasures will mean nothing
Only what I have done
For love’s rewards
Will stand the test of time
As we are Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope, becoming a people of great faith. We must remember that faith has a mission; it has a purpose that is higher than ourselves. We were given a measure of faith, not just to move the mountains in our life; but to move the mountains that keep people from experiencing a life in God.
Of what value is it, if we live a life that is free from obstacles, but bears no fruit that remains?
People who are forging ahead in trustful hope are a people who have come to understand that life is more than what one sees, or feels. Our existence is more than what we are experiencing in the moment. Our purpose is not just about survival and making it. For, we are spiritual beings living in earthly suits on a mission to advance a kingdom, for a King who is benevolent, merciful and full of grace; a King who paid the full ransom of our souls and calls us His own!
While we are taking care of the business of our life on earth and all its responsibilities, we need to realize that this life will soon fade, but eternal life is forever. While we are storing up treasures to make this life enjoyable, let’s not put all our eggs in one basket! Let’s be sure that in all of our labors that we are storing up treasures that will remain forever; treasures that not only bless us, but bless others and the Kingdom.
As you are Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope, remember, when it’s all been said and done, your earthly treasures will mean nothing. There is only one thing that will really matter; “only what was done for love’s reward.” Choose wisely how you use your faith, because its rewards are great and they are eternal!
