Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope – Day 36
April 13, 2011Faith’s Mission
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. 3 Loving God means keeping his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
1 John 5:1-4
Many times in the life of the believer, our focus can get foggy as we forge ahead. We acknowledge that we have been given a measure of faith and that measure has great potential. We may even feed our faith with the truth of God’s Word and experience its benefit for in our own lives. But faith has a divine mission, and its mission is not solely fulfilled by the moving of mountains or obstacles of our personal life. Faith’s mission is to defeat the evil of this world, as it magnifies the one who secured the victory for us.
Each time the mountains in our life are moved by faiths power it should establish us, grow us and mature us in our trust and belief in the character and nature of God. But, faith’s evidence in our life was designed not only to bless us and keep us, but to shape us as vessels that fulfill divine purpose.
12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:12-13
As you Forge Ahead In Trustful Hope:
Taste and see that the Lord is good……
Psalms 34:8a
Revel in the great love that God has for you. Allow that love to root you and ground you in Him. But remember, as a child of God, you are also a joint heir in the Kingdom and you were born with a purpose. The same purpose that Christ came for.
…….. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8
Jesus secured complete victory on the Cross of Calvary. And our mission is to manifest that victory by living a life of faith that forges ahead in trustful hope, loving what God loves and hating what God hates. In that love, we release our faith in His faithfulness that expresses itself in such a way that we reinforce daily the mission and victory of the Cross in our lives, and in the lives of others.
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
“Faith is like electricity. You can’t see it, but you can see the light.”
