Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope – Day 34
April 11, 2011Worship activates your faith and releases God’s presence into your life and therefore miracles become manifest. Because wherever God is, His power is there! The scriptures reveal He inhabits the praises of His people.
Let’s look at a few people that needed a miracle in their life and how they mixed faith with worship to get the desired results.
Leper
When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. [2] And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. [3] And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Matthew 8:1-3
Ruler
18 While He was talking this way to them, behold, a ruler entered and, kneeling down, worshiped Him, saying, My daughter has just now died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will come to life. 19 And Jesus got up and accompanied him, with His disciples. ………………
23 And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making an uproar and din, 24 He said, Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping. And they laughed and jeered at Him. 25 But when the crowd had been ordered to go outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the news about this spread through all that district.
Matthew 9:18-19 & 19:23-26
Gentile
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. [26] But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. [27] And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. [28] Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Matthew 15:25-28
In each of these stories, we see a desperate hopeless leper who was a Jew; a ruler a man of power and influence, a gentile woman, a sinner; yet, worship added to their faith and activated the miracle working power of God into their lives.
Worship isn’t just singing songs, it’s an attitude we have towards God and His presence. Worship is a verb, something I actively participate in with all of my being. Worship is the act of drawing near to God in reverence, in deep respect and great love.
