Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope Day – 30

April 7, 2011

9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

Matthew 8:9

Like the Centurion soldier we need to understand that living a life under authority is what releases the power; the kind of power that causes our faith to be fruitful.  Submission to the authority of God’s Word is the fertilizer that brings our faith to full bloom.  Submission to God’s authority is the tangible substance we give to the words “I believe”.  We have to have substance to feed our faith.  When we yield our will to the truth, it feeds the truth and brings forth fruit (evidence).

The enemy brought rebellion into the world to rob us of the substance of our faith.  Rebellion is the choice not to submit to a higher authority in one’s life.  It is placing your will above another.  Pride is the substance of rebellion.  Rebellion robs you of grace.  The Bible says He gives grace to the humble.  Grace is the favor of God to bless you.  Operating in pride causes your faith to be of none effect, because pride is not the substance that will bring evidence to faith.

Submission yields to the authority of God.  Submission’s mission is to release God’s power into your life for an increase, to bring to you the evidence of your faith.

Because mankind believed the lies of the devil, it has caused us not to live a life under authority.  And the result is as believers we have been operating in less and less power.

The scripture declares:

and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

John 8:32

To know the truth is to have an intimate relationship with the truth.  You can’t have an intimate relationship with truth (the Word) and not yield to its authority.  Freedom comes when you relate to the truth properly.  It rewards you with freedom.

A yielded and obedient life is proof of a submitted life.  A submitted life experiences a faith that is fruitful.

Heaven’s power was available to Jesus the man because of His willing obedience.

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

Hebrews 5:8

That word obedience means he came into a place or submission in his life.  When Jesus left heaven he came to earth as a man, not as God.  The power he released was the power He submitted to when He came up under the authority of His heavenly Father.

“And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”

John 8:29

The heavens may be available to you and I because we are God’s children, but it’s not released until we are under authority.  Today, as you Forge Ahead In Trustful Hope, remember you were born with a destiny, but that destiny doesn’t bear fruit until you submit to it!
