Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope – Day 1
March 9, 2011If I could encourage you on this first day of our 40 day journey of prayer, as we seek God for our cities, I would encourage you with the words that Jesus himself spoke.
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.
Mark 11:22
When I asked the Lord, what was His guiding word to us for 2011; I heard the word “Faith.” It is a simple yet profoundly powerful word. Now, I am not referring to the world’s picture of faith: “Tying a knot at the end of a rope and then struggling to hold on!” I am talking about a living faith. A faith that is demonstrated by a life that is “Forging Ahead In Trustful Hope,” knowing that God is faithful to watch over His Word in our lives!
In this season, you and I can truly forge ahead in expectant prayer, because we can trust in the character and integrity of our God! Let’s view what His Word says about “Who He is”:
- He is a covenant keeping God:
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.
Deuteronomy 7:9
- He is a God of rock solid character:
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Deuteronomy 32:4
- He is a God of truth and cannot lie:
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Numbers 23:19
As you lift up your petitions to the Lord in this season, keep your focus on “Who He Is” and you then, you will surely see “What He can do!”
