Day 6 – Expectation

February 5, 2011

Dear Devoted Child of God;

Today, as we launch into day 6 on our journey to know Him more, what do you believe will take place within you in this season?  What are your expectations within?

As we read the scriptures, we can learn so much from the journeys of others.

The children of Israel were given an invitation to be close to God. But, they rejected that and asked Moses to get close for them. They had no expectation or belief in their hearts that God wanted to befriend them.

They were given a land to inherit as God promised them an inheritance, if they would obey His word and Trust His Word to them. Instead they placed confidence in their human reasoning and gave place to fear instead of faith. They did not expect that getting what God promised might mean an effort on their behalf to believe, to stand, and to take possession of what was given. So they died in the wilderness.

How can that be?  It is when we resign. It is when we resign to the challenge; when we resign to our fears; when we resign to seeing ourselves as the old man and not the new man.  Resignation it is not just a state of mind, but a state of heart, which can bind our spirits.

Are you living life, like the Dunkin Donuts man (in the commercials of days gone by), rising to work only to go to bed to rise again, with no expectation of things to come but the same old, same old? Then somewhere in your life you have resigned.

The honest reality is, we will be either “Pregnant with Expectation or Barren with Resignation”

Are you pregnant with the hope of a different future? Are you pregnant with seeds of truth that are growing and causing your destiny to emerge?  Are you walking through life bound by resignation and only existing?  Today is the day to step out of the grip of resignation in your life and begin to expect!  Begin to dream and allow it to envision you. Stop existing and begin to live in the power of His love, His might and His Word.

Heavenly Father, I come before you and ask that in this season of prayer and fasting that you will show up with your delivering power and deliver us from our resignation and impregnate us with your plans and purposes for our life.  Father, I stand in the gap and repent on our behalf and say Father, we have sinned against you. We have made you to small in our eyes. We have set the course of our life based on our fears, on others opinions, on life’s obstacles, and according to our unbelief. We ask Lord for your forgiveness for our sin and ask that you uproot every lie within us that is holding us in the desert of resignation.

I pray your Spirit will come and breathe on the dry bones of our existence and cause us to arise in a spirit of expectation and desire. I decree and declare that your people will arise in this hour in a spirit of purpose and passion. I thank you that they are being delivered from the stronghold of resignation and released into your plans and purposes for their life.  I thank you that by your spirit, we will in this hour break free from the chains of resignation and take possession of all that you have prepared for us. In Jesus Name Amen

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)

Arise in a new hope this day.
