Day 13 – Expectancy

February 12, 2011

Dear Expectant Believers in Him;

Today, the theme is Expectancy – Webster’s has many ways to define this word, but today we will focus on one of the definitions. It means: to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of. What are you looking forward to?

The Bible tells us that what we believe we will have! You and I are creative beings with the power to change our world. Because the one who created the world has chosen to abide in us! Our words have the power to align things for good or for evil.  We can SAY to the mountain and it must move.

21 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Matthew 21:21-22 (NIV)

For many of us this is true, but not in the positive sense.  We are getting what we say. We are not expecting good, we are not expecting victory and we are not expecting God’s best, because our expectancy has been conditioned by world, by our fears or by our disappointments. is the day to align your expectations in Him.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Luke 6:45 (KJV)

We can assess what we are expecting, by listening to what is coming forth from our lips. What are your lips saying purposefully or passively?  The words that are released are an indication of where your heart is.  Don’t be dismayed, now that you are aware that your words are in indicator of your expectancy; evaluate what you hear and use it as a tool to align your heart with truth, and with the love of God. Once your heart is aligned, then your words will be aligned with good expectation.

If your words have been aligned with the right heart, then let me encourage you that another word for expecting is to “await”. Just as that mother who finds out she is pregnant is expecting, she now has to “await” the appointed time.

Therefore, Expectant Ones, do not be weary in well doing, for in due season you will reap if you faint not.

9And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

Remember, it’s the enemy who wants to discourage you so you will lose heart, because it is out of the heart the mouth speaks.

Heavenly Father, we come today, with great expectation in our heart and we acknowledge that some of it is good and some not so good. Today, we make a decision to surrender to you the false expectations, the fearful expectations, and the negative expectations and ask that you create in us a clean and expected heart for good and not for evil. Thank you for solidifying who we are as your children. Thank you for the creative force you have gifted us with; the power to change the world with the words of our heart. Heal our hearts, forgive us where we lost our heart to the circumstances and situations of our life  Help us to walk in the integrity of the new creation and in the integrity of your word. Jesus we await with expectant hearts as we stand on the truth of your word. And we declare that the mountains will be removed in Jesus Name. But, we also declare that things will be built and established in our life that will advance your Kingdom for your glory, in Jesus Name. AMEN.
Awaiting with expectant hearts
