Day 27 – Expectancy

February 24, 2011

Dear Devoted One,

17 …because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:17-20 (NIV)

Today’s theme is expectation.  You and I can live this life in full expectation of all that God has promised, as we serve a God that cannot lie.  In Jeremiah 1:12, it states that, He is a God that watches over His word to perform it in our life..

The word hope in this passage is translated: (to anticipate, usually with pleasure); expectation (abstract or concrete) or confidence : faith, hope.

When you and I have this kind of hope, it is an expectation that releases our faith. You and I can have a concrete expectation in God and His word, which releases a hope, an anticipation of things to come.   With this type of anticipation, we can have confidence to believe.

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 9:23 (NKJV)

God’s very constant character and nature manifested in the life of His Son Jesus gives us a hope that anchors our soul firm and strong.  In this hope, we now have access to the presence of God, as He the author of our hope, went before us and prepared the way that you and I can enter freely as the children of God. If we can enter into His presence freely, we can have a hope, an expectation that all that we need to accomplish the will of God will be freely given to us.  Let us live our life in the hope that with God ALL things are possible.  Let us live a life of faith and expectation that the mountains in our life will melt, the challenges in our life will yield and the purpose of our life will be fulfilled for His glory.

What are you anticipating?  Is your anticipation based on what you have done or in what He has done?

Release your faith in a love that knows no boundaries, raise your expectations to the heavens and watch the God of all heaven do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think!

11 For the Scripture says,

“Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”

Romans 10:11 (NASB)

11 For the Scripture says,

“Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Romans 10:11 (NKJV)

Believe in the faithfulness of God.

Heavenly Father, I come to you today with a heart of gratitude for the integrity of who you are!  Thank you for being constant, steadfast and immovable in your character and nature.   I place my hope in you; expecting Your transforming power to do the work in me that I am unable to do in my own strength.  Reveal and remove the stony places of my heart.  Watch over your Words in my life until they bear the fruit that glorifies you.   In Jesus Name    Amen.
