Day 24 – Evangelism

February 21, 2011

Dear Co-laborer with God,

…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:8b (NKJV)

The Lord is devoted to destroying the works of the devil and the impact that his works have had on mankind and their relationship with their Heavenly Father.  Jesus’ devotion to His purpose was as a result of the LOVE that the Heavenly Father had for you and me. When the scriptures say tells us that God so loved the world, he was not talking about the planets, trees, and animals. He was talking about the people who live in the world. The entire world was created for one reason, to provide a home for His children. [People are trying to save the planet, and God is trying to save the World.]  In the following passage, we see love communicated and love committed to do something with a clear purpose:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (KJV)

Then, we read loves purpose in:

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 3:17 (KJV)

When you and I are devoted to Him, His values become our values, His mission becomes our mission, His purpose is our purpose.  When Jesus saves us, He comes to live in us, we become one with Him, and we then could safely read the same scriptures and add ourselves as a co-laborer with the plan of God.  Just consider my thoughts below:

…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested [in me], that He might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:8b (NKJV)

17 For God sent not his Son into the world [through me] to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

It is not sacrilegious to place your name in the framework of God’s Word to describe the purpose and intent of God for your life.

13…for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”

Romans 10:13-15 (NASB)

Paul was practically declaring what it will take for the works of the enemy to be destroyed.  It will take a people who possess His heart.  It will take a people willing to be one with God in such a way that God can use their voice to speak the words that will deliver mankind.  Paul said practically, “How will they believe if they do not hear?” and “How will they hear if someone does not do the declaring” and “How will they declare if they have no sense of mission or commission”.  Know this today, He has given you and I a mission, to fulfill the mission to be a mouth piece that communicates the heart of God to everyone. When we do, we will fulfill our divine purpose in destroying the works of the evil one.

Will you make a decision today to align your will with His and allow His purpose to be your purpose?

Will you make a decision to co-labor together WITH God?

Will you be allowing His mission to commission you to fulfill His purposes in this day and hour?

Dear Heavenly Father; thank you for loving mankind. Dear Jesus thank you for your love of the Father, that you would devote yourself to what He is devoted to. Thank you, Holy Spirit for empowering Jesus to accomplish His mission. We ask that you release a spirit of revelation within us to empower us to align ourselves as your children with your mission. We ask for unction from on high to equip us for that which you have commissioned us to do. We thank you for the privilege to manifest you in the earth by destroying the works of the evil one in the lives of those you love. In Jesus Name; Amen
