E100 Devotion – Day 98

August 11, 2012

Reading: Revelation 4-7

All the inhabitants of heaven are focused around God’s throne on worshipping Him. The 24 elders represent the most mature of believers leading the way in worshipping God. Heaven is a place of awesome worship. It’s a place where all authority and power is made subject to the One who gave it!

The beauty, color and awe of God and heaven are beyond human comprehension, John had to be escorted “in the Spirit” into this marvelous realm. He sees God in all of His majesty, surrounded by an emerald like rainbow, seated upon a throne with a sea of crystal before him and 24 elders robed in white wearing crowns.

He sees 4 angelic creatures  around the throne with eyes in front and back that resembled a lion, a calf, a man and an eagle all with six wings each worshipping God day and night saying:

“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Revelation 4:11

He’s obviously over whelmed by what he sees and with what he was ignorant of. John weeps when there appears to be no one able to open the scroll and loose its seals. He’s told not to weep as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah comes and takes the scrolls out of the right hand of God.

As the Lamb takes the scrolls as He is worshipped in a new song, worshipping Him for His worthiness to open the seals, for His redemption, by the shedding of His blood, affecting every tongue, people, nation and king, making us kings and priests to God, and we shall reign on the earth.

God reigns in us through worship. Heaven visits the earth through worship. God’s authority is established from the throne in heaven to the throne of our hearts through worship. Worship releases revelation of that which is to come when the Lamb of God opens the seals of end time judgments, tribulation and closing last day’s events.
