E100 Devotion – Day 58July 2, 2012
Reading: Matthew 13:1-58
The Kingdom of Heaven is built in the hearts of those who will receive, value, and cultivate the truth until it bears fruit their lives. God isn’t looking for tape recorders of the truth; He’s looking for demonstrators of truth. When the truth is demonstrated it reproduces fruit which ultimately glorifies God.
Our behavior is the fruit of what’s being sown and cultivated in our hearts. Our level of fruitfulness is determined by how well we cultivate good seed in our hearts, and by rooting out the unfruitful seeds that won’t produce good fruit.
Why does God hide truth in a mystery? He wants believers to benefit from the truth. Truth, like a seed, produces a harvest of fruit in our lives. He wants us to value the truth and see how much the smallest seed of truth can produce the greatest growth and fruitful outcomes.
When we work just a little truth into our lives like yeast in bread it can cause us to rise in all areas of our life. Just a seed of God’s truth brings new life in Christ. Every born again believer is born of the incorruptible seed of God’s Word.
Opposition in our lives comes not against us; it comes against the Word of truth in us. We can be more fruitful if we’ll determine to continue enduring opposition against the Word of truth whether it comes in the form of persecution, affliction, or cares and riches. The harvest of the Kingdom of heaven threatens the existing corrupt belief systems of our fallen world.
We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, we wrestle against lies and vain imaginations that would want to oppose the truth of God’s Word coming into full harvest in our lives.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Take time to cultivate the Word in the garden of your heart today.
