Reading: Joshua 1

How would you like to be the leader who followed the great prophet, reformer, deliverer, miracle worker Moses? I’m sure that had to come across Joshua’s mind.  First God calls Joshua,  He then renews the vision of what God has given His people. What’s the key to accomplishing this great vision and fulfilling his destiny? The answer for Joshua was not to be found on the outside but on the inside of Joshua.

Three times God commands Joshua to be strong and courageous, not to be afraid or dismayed. Joshua had to secure the inner victory and success before he could accomplish the outward victory and experience success.

Your inner world reality determines your outer world reality! God tells Joshua how to make the promised land vision a reality – God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous. But how does Joshua do that?

Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law (Word) which Moses My servant command you; do not turn form it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper wherever you go. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.
Joshua 1:8

What was the key to Joshua’s success and great accomplishments in the Kingdom of God?

He kept his focus upon the Word of God, he meditated upon it day and night, he observed on the inside a new reality until it became on the outside, like it was on the inside!  “What we think about, we bring about.” If we can see it, we can be it.

What do failure and success both have in common? They’re both created in the same place – on the inside.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…
Proverbs 23:7a

How does what we see on the inside become what we experience on the outside?

It transfers through your mouth. Meditate on God’s Word, see yourself doing it and then proclaim it until you experience it!

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”…
Romans 10:8

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Matthew 12:34

Take the time to meditate on God’s Word.  Allow it to encourage you and shape your innerworld.  If you do you will have great successs!
