When Jesus started His journey with the first disciples He didn’t say “listen to me.” Jesus invited them to “follow Him.” Jesus came as a servant leader. People respond when we show care by serving them for their benefit. Serving according to Romans 12:2 is worship – if we love God we serve Him and those that are His. To be a Christian and not serve means we’re conforming to the selfish culture of the world.
We cut across the grain of our selfish society when we serve in our marriages, families, churches, communities, vocations and ministries with excellence, and in a manner that reflects the heart of the Lord for whom we serve. Transformation takes place when we serve unselfishly. Serving is how we prove what the will of God is, things that are good, acceptable and perfect. God anointed Jesus of Nazareth who went about doing good, and healing all that were sick and oppressed of the devil. The supernatural follows serving (doing good).
