E100 – Reading: Genesis 6:5-7:24
It’s so easy to read about what happened in the judgment of man and miss what happened to God as a result of His rejection by man. But in a modern day translation of Genesis 6:6 it gives us a much better view of how God is impacted by a world that was once full of light and glory, now filled with darkness, evil and depravity.
So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. … But Noah found favor with the Lord.

We cannot preach the Gospel of Salvation without including the need for repentance and acknowledging the evil state of mankind. The value of Salvation is diminished when what we have been saved from, isn’t included in our preaching.
The following verses in chapter six go on to explain the evil state of mankind and God’s communication to Noah regarding it.
Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!
